iCloud storage full and don't want to spend money on increasing your storage? Read on.........

Apple's iCloud storage is an important feature for us Apple users. It backs up data so that it can be accessed on multiple devices. For those of us who still only have 16Gb of internal storage, it can help free up space by backing up photo's leaving the photo's in internal storage optimised to save space. You can pay to increase your iCloud storage, but if that's not something that your keen on doing, you can clear space on your existing storage. Follow the tips below to help you regain some of that precious storage space.

Also worth remembering is that once your storage is completely full, you can't upload anything else so your device's storage is also going to suffer.

First thing to do is check how much storage you still have on your iPhone or iPad. You can do this by:

Settings  iCloud  Storage (for devices running iOS 9 or later).
Settings  iCloud  Storage  Manage Storage (for iPhone and iPad enabled by iOS 8).
Settings  iCloud  Storage & Backup (for iOS devices running on versions earlier than iOS 8).
Once you've found out how much storage you actually have, you can then decide what you want to remove and what you want to keep. There are a lot of apps that automatically back up to the iCloud when you install them and its likely that some of these you don't really need to be backed up so you need to decided which ones you want to be backed up and which you don't, make the necessary changes and free up some space.

A. Select which iOS Apps you need to backup on iPhone/iPad

1: Launch Settings app on your iPhone/iPad.

Tap on Settings

2: Tap on iCloud option.

Tap on iCloud

3: Next, tap Storage.

Now tap Storage

4: Under the STORAGE section, tap Manage Storage.

Tap on Manage Storage

5: Now tap on the name of your iPhone or iPad.

6: This will show you a list of apps under CHOOSE DATA TO BACK UP section.

7: Tap on Show All Apps to make your selection process easier.

8: You can now toggle off any app you don’t want to back up and delete the backup.

B. Deleting photos and videos from your iCloud Library:

On iPhone/iPad
1: Launch Photos app and tap on Photos from the bottom left corner of phone screen.
2: Tap Select.
3: Next, select the photos you want to delete and then tap on trash can icon from the bottom right corner.

C. Managing Your iCloud Drive

First off, follow steps 1 - 4 in A. above. Then,
5: Under DOCUMENTS & DATA, tap on the app you want to remove storage for.

6: Tap on Edit in the top right corner.

7: Press on Delete All.

Then just confirm you want to delete all when prompted.

Hopefully these tips may help you free up some storage and save you some money.
